  • My Story on how I got my body from illness to alkaline

    As a very busy business owner,a wife and a very hands on mother of two, I put all my time into everyone and everything else, caring very little about my health. I was aware that I should be eating vegetables,which I often did,but a mare handful on the side of my dinner would make me feel like I am being kind to my body.As a Jamaican, white rice was the main staple and of course Pork was a major part of the protein I consumed along with other red meats like oxtail and goat on a daily basis.Sodas and bottled fruit juices were the main drinks that I consumed with meals. I must say I had quite a bit of water during the days at work ,but surely not enough to alkalize  the acid I took into my body through the sodas and other junk food that I ate.

                    I had my regular check ups at my doctors and thought I lead a very healthy lifestyle. I however started having stomach problems, for which I was treated and told that these stomach conditions were because of my busy lifestyle. I began having the heart burns and stomach problems more frequently ,was treated always with the same medicine  and continued my lifestyle and the same eating habits.I started having allergies and frequent head-aches for which I just casually took painkillers and anti-histamines .This went on for years.not realizing that I was in a spiral going down in health. I started feeling really stressed out and tired very often, contributing all this to the business I ran.I finally sold the business and migrated to the U.S.A.After a few months of rest I noticed I got more and more tired, My stomach got worse ,to the point where I could not eat most foods, They would give me very bad heart burns. The head aches continued and  I lost over thirty pounds not being able to eat much.I remember clearly one day I drove to the supermarket to buy some stuff for dinner that evening and I could not get up from the car. I was so weak, that I had to sit for a while before I pulled myself up by holding on to the door,then the top of the car. I realized that day that I was in really poor health.I got weaker each day as I was not getting much nutrients for my body to even function much more to be healthy!! I kept going to doctors and emergency rooms in Hospitals and was put through various tests and given many different medicines in attempt to help me to “feel better”.One Doctor told me I had developed stomach ulcers which usually lead to stomach cancer. I got sick and tire of being sick and tire.

    My family started getting very concerned and one day my Mom said to me. ”I bought some calcium and something called enzymes from a TV commercial and they said it was good for everything !! At that time in my life I was willing to try anything !! The doctors basically were just trying out the different medications on me which were not helping at all. I tried the enzymes and on the same day I noticed I could eat a little without my stomach hurting bad.By this time I had been watching Dr. Don Colbert a well known Natural Health Doctor from Florida and had bought his books which taught me the foods never to eat and the foods we should always eat.He also talks about taking enzymes with meals for better digestion and that made me realize I was on the right path.Due to the fact that eating was so hard on my stomach, I started juicing vegetables (especially the dark leafy greens) and taking the enzymes after each drinkI also did a series of DETOX.I bought some super green foods(dark green leafy vegetable ground up in powder form) at the health food store and made smoothies which my entire family drank.The smoothies were so delicious that my kids who were 10 and 14 at that time looked forward to having it.Look for veg. smoothie recipes here.I kept juicing fresh vegetables and drinking smoothies with the various vegetables so I could get enough nutrients in my body.I started feeling much better after about two weeks and incorporated regular foods like brown rice,regular salads, fruits,fish (from the ocean),nuts,organic chicken and other healthy foods.Taking enzymes, Juicing vegetables ,fruits and making smoothies has been a part of my life ever since and I have never had another problem with my stomach since.I sometimes leave out juicing but my green superfood smoothies are always a quick alternative without the mess.

    My entire family has watched this transition in my life and we all live healthy by this changed lifestyle. Vegetables such as cabbage,broccoli,kale,wheat grass,spinach and calaloo has changed my life.They are packed with all the    nutrients,enzymes,antioxidants,vitamins and minerals we need to prevent cancer,heart disease,strokes and most other degenerative diseases. I believe that without starting to juice the vegetables and drink smoothies from the green superfood, I would certainly not be writing this article . The vegetable juices and green superfood that I believe in has turned my health and life around . This lifestyle has never seized to amaze me !!  My husband who suffered a mild stroke and was told he would have to be on Plavix for the rest of his life has been cleared for the past eight years and is in great health. What can I say !! Green superfood and juicing vegetables and fruits has changed our family and we are forever Thankful !!!!
