BANANA -KALE SMOOTHIE
1-2 Bananas (very ripe)
1 Table Spoon of grounded flax seed
3 Organic Kale Leave (without stems)
1 Table Spoon of purelife super green food
2-3 Cups of Ice
2-3 Mint Leaves (optional)3 Tble spoon yogurt
Directions
Blend till smooth and creamy. You should not be able to see any small parts of the kale. Fresh & organic mixed greens will work as well.
GREEN SMOOTHIE
Ingredients
2 Large Lemons,
1 Med- Large piece of Ginger Root,
1 Granny Apple,
Ice,
Purified Water
4-5 Hand Fulls of Spinach Leaves or 2 tbs. supergreen fooda pinch of stevia(sweetner)
Directions
Peel the lemons, remove the seeds. Squeeze every bit of juice into the blender, next add the water and ice, peel the Ginger root, chop it up in fine squares, Slice the Apple (keep peel on), Add the Spinach. Add more water, sprinkle on top Kal Brand Stevia (it is really the best) and blend.
BEETROOT DRINK
Ingredients
1 medium beet, peeled and cut into wedges
1 cup pineapple chucks
1 cup water
1 tablespoon fresh grated ginger
Juice of half a lemonDirections
Juice the beets in a juicer. Strain the beet juice and pour into a blender container. Add the pineapple chunks, water, ginger, and lemon juice to the blender and blend until liquefied. Pour the juice through a large strainer, if desired.
Mango fruit is a great source of beta carotene and vitamin C.
It is also chuck full of other nutrients.
Mangoes contain an enzyme with stomach soothing properties similar to papain found in papayas.
Adding spinach to the smoothie makes a real nutrition powerhouse.
MY FAVOURITE GREEN SMOOTHIE
2 hands full spinach
1 table spoon supergreen food
1 well ripe banana (frozen)
1 tbs.coconut oil.
1 cup pure water
Blend all ingredients in blender until smooth. Enjoy !!!
JAMAICAN CALLALOO SMOOTHIE
Jamaican callaloo smoothie(power punch)
2 tbl. sp. Callaloo powder or two hands full fresh callaloo (cut up)
1 very ripe banana (frozen)
1 cup purified water
1 cup yogurt
1 tbl. sp honey or a little stevia (optional)as sweetner.
1/2 cup ice
Blend all ingredients together until smooth. Enjoy !!!
Tropical Green Smoothie
1 cup of frozen pineapple
1 cup of papaya or 1 banana
1 cup of coconut water
1 tablespoon of coconut oil

My Story on how I got my body from illness to alkaline
I had my regular check ups at my doctors and thought I lead a very healthy lifestyle. I however started having stomach problems, for which I was treated and told that these stomach conditions were because of my busy lifestyle. I began having the heart burns and stomach problems more frequently ,was treated always with the same medicine and continued my lifestyle and the same eating habits.I started having allergies and frequent head-aches for which I just casually took painkillers and anti-histamines .This went on for years.not realizing that I was in a spiral going down in health. I started feeling really stressed out and tired very often, contributing all this to the business I ran.I finally sold the business and migrated to the U.S.A.After a few months of rest I noticed I got more and more tired, My stomach got worse ,to the point where I could not eat most foods, They would give me very bad heart burns. The head aches continued and I lost over thirty pounds not being able to eat much.I remember clearly one day I drove to the supermarket to buy some stuff for dinner that evening and I could not get up from the car. I was so weak, that I had to sit for a while before I pulled myself up by holding on to the door,then the top of the car. I realized that day that I was in really poor health.I got weaker each day as I was not getting much nutrients for my body to even function much more to be healthy!! I kept going to doctors and emergency rooms in Hospitals and was put through various tests and given many different medicines in attempt to help me to “feel better”.One Doctor told me I had developed stomach ulcers which usually lead to stomach cancer. I got sick and tire of being sick and tire.
My family started getting very concerned and one day my Mom said to me. ”I bought some calcium and something called enzymes from a TV commercial and they said it was good for everything !! At that time in my life I was willing to try anything !! The doctors basically were just trying out the different medications on me which were not helping at all. I tried the enzymes and on the same day I noticed I could eat a little without my stomach hurting bad.By this time I had been watching Dr. Don Colbert a well known Natural Health Doctor from Florida and had bought his books which taught me the foods never to eat and the foods we should always eat.He also talks about taking enzymes with meals for better digestion and that made me realize I was on the right path.Due to the fact that eating was so hard on my stomach, I started juicing vegetables (especially the dark leafy greens) and taking the enzymes after each drinkI also did a series of DETOX.I bought some super green foods(dark green leafy vegetable ground up in powder form) at the health food store and made smoothies which my entire family drank.The smoothies were so delicious that my kids who were 10 and 14 at that time looked forward to having it.Look for veg. smoothie recipes here.I kept juicing fresh vegetables and drinking smoothies with the various vegetables so I could get enough nutrients in my body.I started feeling much better after about two weeks and incorporated regular foods like brown rice,regular salads, fruits,fish (from the ocean),nuts,organic chicken and other healthy foods.Taking enzymes, Juicing vegetables ,fruits and making smoothies has been a part of my life ever since and I have never had another problem with my stomach since.I sometimes leave out juicing but my green superfood smoothies are always a quick alternative without the mess.

Indole-3-Carbinol Stops Cancer
Friday, December 12, 2008 – Byron Richards, CCNIndole-3-carbinol, a compound found in cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, collard greens, brussels sprouts, and cabbage) and dietary supplements, has been found to modify a key enzyme involved with the spreading of cancer, especially breast and prostate cancer.
Researchers have known for some time the Indole-3-carbinol reduces cancer cell growth, disrupts cancer cell migration, and weakens cancer cells. This is especially true in hormone-related cancers, which is why Indole-3-carbinol is currently in human clinical trials for breast and prostate cancer.
The new discovery may have pinpointed the key mechanism behind all these previous cancer-suppressing activities. Researchers found that Indole 3 carbinol modulates an enzyme called elastase, in turn changing a gene signaling switch called cyclin E. During cancer cyclin E takes on a shorter form, which causes cancer cells to reproduce very rapidly. Indole-3-carbinol blocks elastase from changing cyclin E into its cancer-generating form. The researchers showed this arrested the development of breast cancer cells. This is the first time a precise biological mechanism for Indole-3-carbinol has been identified, and is considered a major discovery in the war on cancer.

In today’s society it is so much harder to maintain a healthy lifestyle.We have everything at our finger tips.The car is parked out side to take us anywhere,The elevator takes us up the stairs so we no longer have to walk,The vending machines have ready snacks for us and of course the micro wave will give us a hot meal in seconds !How many times we stop at the fast food chain to pick up a value meal for the kids on the way to practice. Our fast pace lifestyle is slowly killing us,yet we work so hard to enjoy a ”great life”.
STOP! TAKE A DEEP BREATH ! We have to plan ahead.There is a wise saying,”if we fail to plan,we plan to fail”. Think ahead,plan for the week ahead.Purchase three different types of nuts ,some raisins and some dried cranberries. Mix them all together ,you will now have trailmix snacks to take everywhere !!An apple,an orange or a banana is just as filling as the snacks in the vending machine, yet so much more nutritious.A salad with left over chicken and a little of your favourite dressing in a separate container is a delicious yet healthy lunch or maybe your choice could be the left over chicken made into a delicious sandwich with all the trimmings you like,Start by doing this at least three times a week.For smaller children it will take a little more time breaking them in.Instead of a sudden change,learn how to incorporate veggies into their meals,you will have to be creative,but hey they are well worth it !!
Once you have made better food choices for you and your family,take time out to exercise ! even just a walk three times a week. Now that you do not have to go buy lunch take that time and add a few more steps in your day.Ten thousand steps a day is an awesome habit for your heart and appearance.While I waited on my kids at practice I took that time to walk ,you have to learn to juggle good habits just the way we do it in our everyday lives.Swimming is also another family fun thing while everyone gets a work out.Never make the mistake to boldly announce that the family is on the path of healthy living !!You will be fighting an uphill battle .Small daily changes will make it happen,in no time it will become a pattern.
Healthy water is something that you should make sure that your family gets enough of.A brita water filter jug is great to have and the family will enjoy the taste .I personally try to avoid too much plastic water bottles, as certain chemical from the plastic seeps into the water during transporting in the heat.

DISCOVERY BAY, St Ann.
CANCER IS a scourge for which there seems to be no wholesale antidote. It attacks and kills just about anyone. No respecter of race, politics, religion and social status it is. It has decimated familial ties and relationships, and even attempted to destroy the love affair between Ray and Yvonne Kirlew of Discovery Bay, St Ann.
Diagnosed with lymphatic cancer (Hodgkin’s lymphoma) in late 2002, Yvonne went through an agonising period of chemotherapy which twisted and wracked her being with pain and nausea, in its efforts to kill the cancer cells. It was killing her instead, and so she planned her own funeral. But Ray was determined that the woman he loves was not going to leave him, and he nursed her back to good health. By December 2004, it seemed that Yvonne was cancer-free.
