Hypothyroidism occurs when your thyroid gland doesn’t produce enough of certain important hormones. You should work with your doctor to identify the thyroid hormones you’ll need to take, but herbal supplements in the form of tea will help ease your symptoms.

Iodine is a necessary nutrient a thyroid requires in order to manufacture T3 and T4, two important hormones made by your thyroid. Too little iodine can cause hypothyroidism, goiter and more. Irish Moss is a herb that Jamaicans use to make a delicious drink, that is rich in iodine,making it beneficial for strengthening,nourishing and toning up the glands. Dandelion also contains natural iodine.
Other herbs that can boost blood circulation, alertness and the immune system , echinacea, burdock root, and red clover. To make a tea from any of these herbs, steep 1 to 3 teaspoons dried herb or root in 1 cup boiling water for 5 to 15 minutes before straining.
